Hi! My name is Lauren Johnson.
I am a designer, plant fanatic, and dog mom in Chicago, lucky enough to be doing what I love!
Currently, you can find me back at DePaul University (#DoubleDemon), earning my Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction. I'm passionate about learning about accessible, thoughtful design and accessibility standards. It feels like the "why" to graphic design's "what".
But don't worry, I still have time for design! Over the past few years, I have taken on design roles at agencies, marketing departments, B2B teams, and internal creative agencies. Through these positions, I have become an expert in branding & brand standards, advertising campaign creation, web design, and email design & development.
Most recently at Theorem, I was brought on to revamp the brand guidelines and website. During the launch of the new Automation solution, my team and I collaborated to create a successful ad campaign that drove website traffic up by 1000% and doubled the number of qualified leads.
Before Theorem, I worked for 4 years on an outstanding team at Everspring. I learned almost everything I know during this time. My primary focus at (and outside) Everspring was visual design, specifically digital advertising and paid media, print, email, and UI/UX design and development.
I love getting my hands into front-end development when I can! I have been using HTML, CSS, and (a little bit of) JavaScript since my senior year of high school. I am proficient in Adobe CC - Illustrator (my favorite), Photoshop, InDesign, XD, After Effects, Animate, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro. I also have a working knowledge of Marketo, Workfront, and Figma.
Outside of work, you can find me walking my dog (more often sleeping on the couch with him, though), exploring Chicago, spending time with my big Italian family, or working on a puzzle.
